When Palmichael closed for twenty weeks, the Palmiero family saw a canvas, not a crisis. They invited WhitCo to reimagine a beloved, award-winning restaurant — combining authentic Italian cooking with an entirely new sense of place.

Running since 1981 and twice named Restaurant of the Year, Palmichael's reputation was built on fine authentic Italian food and warm, genuine service.
The Covid closure offered a rare, uninterrupted window to rethink the whole premises — and reopen with a space finally worthy of the food.
Decisions made in real time
WhitCo CEO Vita Whitaker shaped the vision with the family. Our design-and-build team then worked on site, making design decisions in parallel with construction.
The result: a Carrera-marble art-deco dining room, and a sumptuous new cocktail bar upstairs — once the family home.
